Are you an addict?
Yes, I am.
And what is it that you are addicted to?
PLANTS ON PLANTS ON MORE PLANTS
It all started with an Aloe we got at Costco one day. That little Aloe grew and grew and grew, reaching for the sky, getting so heavy we had to prop him up with water glasses in his planter.
Then Covid hit, and I needed a hobby. “Plants are nice…” I thought. One thing led to another. One lovely little succulent led to a money plant, which led to a snake plant, which led to a monstera, a ficus tree, a fiddle fig bush, a palm, a cactus, a lemon tree, and so many more.
When I tell you that these plants are the distinguishing factor in what makes my home beautiful, you might squint at me. You might say “Plants? Really? Not the designer furniture or bespoke paneling or custom windows?” And I would tell you “Yes, because none of those items you mentioned are living, breathing, life-affirming, oxygen-producing, constantly-changing; any of those items, anyone could have and they would all look the same; any of those items, *without* plants next to them, would just be some nice items. The PLANTS bring this home to life. The PLANTS are why my home is so Krasiva.”
And then you’d look around, assessing. And then you’d nod your head and ask me to join you in a trip to the nursery. And it would be glorious.
Look, if you’re struggling with why your house looks nice but is just missing *something* that you can’t quite put your finger on, may I kindly but very strongly suggest that you go get yourself a nice big fluffy floor plant, place it in your space, and tell me if your entire environment isn’t immediately changed?
