One of my most-used, most-adored, most-recommended design choices is the abundant use of BASKETS. Lovely, hand woven, large, stylish baskets.
I typically source my baskets from HomeGoods or TJ Maxx- they have relationships with designer manufacturers and small businesses that allow consumers to benefit from designer quality at real-life friendly prices.
In choosing my baskets, I look for organic, rich materials, hand-weaving, and sturdy shapes. I try to bring in rich wood hues to break up the monotony of my very-white home walls. I typically buy larger, more substantial pieces to not just clutter my home, but do buy different sizes for different uses.
I use baskets throughout my home: in the living room for blankets, in the kitchen for unorganized paperwork “to-read”, in the playroom for toy storage that doesn’t look chaotic, in closets for socks/bath supplies/towels, in pantry for snacks, the uses are limitless!
Here’s some beautiful baskets on the TJ Maxx website right now, but going in person, especially to HomeGoods if there’s one near you, is most likely to yield unique finds.
